Having got a bargain on a baby carrier/backpack the day before at cyclerama, Lay Chin and I joined Justin and Kate for a hike up Mt Cooke (highest point in the Darling Range) on Sunday 13 June. Justin and I lugged our gliders up hoping to fly down, and Kate brought a shade cloth to launch from, while Lay Chin carried Patrick.

The wind was perfect for flying, but we weren't sure if there were too many trees to make it to the landing area if the lift didn't work out, so we ended up walking down. We did a good job of missing the Bibbulmun track on the way up, with lots of bush bashing, but managed to find it on the way down, with just a little shortcut through the bush to get to the cars (garmin navigation).
